Where we draw the lines

Some states fall in more than one region, so they show up in each. West of the Cascades means everything between the Cascade crest and the coast. In California, the Southwest mix is for Imperial, Riverside, San Bernardino and Inyo counties, and in Nevada it's for Clark, Lincoln, Nye and Esmeralda. West Texas means west of the 100th meridian.
